The Rotting Earth

Posted by McSimillian

Today i'd like to post something different for a change, I was watching the news this afternoon out of boredom to catch up with what's happening in today's world. Apparently, countries experiencing snow are having snow storms and temperatures had dropped to a record breaking low this year compared to previous years. There were canceled flights due to the storms, train breakdowns due to engine frosting, car accidents due to slippery roads and not many people are going out shopping at this time of the year when they should be like they do every year.

OMG! Look! Snow! Yay!

While in Taiwan there was a 6.8 magnitude earthquake, no one died but it was the strongest they had this year. Funny thing was, there was a sort of chinese Grammy/Oscar/Movie/Music awards goin on when the quake took place. There was shaking but no, the building didn't collapse, i.e. no one died

Moving on to the Philippines, one of their active volcanoes, Mount Mayon's gonna blow! any time soon within this 2 weeks according to geologists/scientists.

Its the Devil! He's inside the volcano! Cooking! (*Д* )

If it blows, might as well blow like the one in Yellowstone Park from the movie 2012 during New Year's Eve, that'd be fuggin awesome~

Yup, just like that, isnt it beautiful (** ) make sure to bring your kids along
and watch what they'd call; The Mother of All Fireworks

On a side note, i am aware as you are, that the polar ice caps are melting away (you ARE aware of that right? O_o the Copenhagen Climate Treaty held in (duh) Copenhagen, Denmark recently brought a lot of powerful people from powerful countries together, including America, China, Japan and Europe to make empty promises and bullsh*t about what the eff they gonna do about the increase in CO2 emission in their countries to help reduce the greenhouse effect. In case if you have no idea what the greenhouse effect is, its the heating up of the Earth due to the trapped UV rays caused by CO2 emission that destroys the ozone layer. You DO notice its getting hotter during the day time right? Maybe even someday it'll get so hot that the Earth will eventually explode, like a boiling egg, but of course with that kinda temperature causing the explosion, the human race would've been long extinct due to spontaneous combustion.

Just like an over-boiled egg, omg the yolk's leaking out

Look ma, im the Human Torch

So anyways, according to researchers, it seems that one of the first countries that's gonna flood from the melting of the polar ice caps, is gonna be...(drum roll) the Maldives (round o' applause) aww that sucks, i wanna have my honeymoon there, i bet you do too, but don't worry, coz according to predictions, the flooding's still a century away. Apparently, the country's only 1 metre plus above sea level, daymn~ but its obvious you can see that from the photo i had so kindly added below to fill your fantasial needs.

Congratulations Maldives, you're gonna be the first country to flood not counting in Atlantis

So my point is, with all this natural disaster goin on, i was wondering how safe is the country im living in at the moment? (.___.) i did a bit of research and i say that we're quite ok. The map below (click to enlarge) shows the tectonic plates marked by the black lines and active volcanoes around the world marked by the red dots. As for the Earthquakes, they're directly linked with the tectonic plates, meaning they occur on the black lines and as you can see, the tectonic faults surrounds the SEA countries with Brunei lying somewhere in the middle.

I think its safe, to me at least. Now what about typhoons and tornadoes? hrmm..haven't thought about that really haha but escaping from the flooding of the world will likely be futile. Maybe China's already building one of em big Arch ships like in the movies (゚∀゚) start saving up kids, you'll need it! To conclude this post, i was thinking...if we (humans) are the cause of this Earth's 'death', wouldn't that make us comparable to deadly viruses? If its inevitable, why don't just call us the 'HIV of Mother Nature'...well, don't go kill yourself now or stop using your cars, its just something to think about or don't. I miss Geography ♥
